STRIKES BACK is wrapped!

"Didn't you shoot the film back in January?" I hear you ask. Well, yes. But there were several pickup shots we needed to grab before we could officially call a wrap. Now that we finally have them in the can, we can focus on wrapping up the ADR and editing.

All we have to do then is mount a reshoot for A NEW HOPE before completing filming on DEATH.

It never ends...

Bikinis Turn 60!

bikinis

Way back in 1946 the modern bikini was revealed to the world in Paris by its French 'inventers', engineer Louis Reard and fashion designer Jacques Heim. Named after Bikini Atoll (the site of nuclear weapon tests in the Marchall Islands) on the reasoning that the burst of excitement it would cause would be like the atomic bomb! It is important to note however that although the name 'bikini' is 60 years old today, the actual two piece swimsuit has been around alot longer.

The famous "Bikini girls" mosaic found at Villa Romana del Casale (near Piazza Armerina, Sicily) shows women exercising. The mosaic is dated ca. 300 A.D. Two-piece garments worn by women for athletic purposes have also been observed on Greek urns and paintings, dated as early as 1400 BC.

DEATH production delayed

Although the majority of Death of the Killer Bikini Vampire Girls has been filmed, and the editing process has begun, there still remains several shots that need to be filmed. These have been delayed primarily due to the filming schedule blowing out and the actors having prior commitments. Filming these remaining shots should resume shortly...

DAWN is now DEAD - but thats a good thing

After many problems securing a shopping centre location it was decided to rewrite the script so it was set in a different location. Since we no longer were using the fourth film to homage Dawn of the Dead, it made sense to change the title as well. As such, the fourth film is now Death of the Killer Bikini Vampire Girls: The Final Chapter!

As a result of the rewrite, several jokes relating to shopping centres have been lost forever, but that's probably a good thing! But don't worry, we have new-ish jokes to replace them...

DAWN will explode on the screen

"It's not how you start, it's how you finish" - line from a song in a bad Star Wars fan film

The explosive end of DAWN requires a special effect not before attempted by this group of film makers. As such, several ideas on how to achieve the effect have been thrown around, including some for dangerously large explosions. Making sure that safety is always kept in mind, a test will be held by our special effects wizard, Bill "Chilly Fish" Thorpe, because we don't want to seriously injure any of our actors.

DAWN Location Becoming A Challenge

Paying homage to Dawn Of The Dead, Dawn of the Killer Bikini Vampire Girls is set inside a shopping centre where three vampire girls hide during the day to avoid the sunlight. While being extremely ambitious, the task of finding a shopping centre we can film in should not be too hard a task. Or so we thought.

So as not to interfere with regular trading of a shopping centre, we plan to film on Sundays. So as not to interfere with regular trading of a shopping centre, shopping centres leave their maintenance for Sundays. If it wasn't for this slight clash we could easily secure a location. Several ideas for changes to the script have been suggested with a Plan B currenlty being written into an alternate script just in case. We have set the date of the 15th of March as the deadline to secure a shopping centre location.

Anyone who owns a shopping centre or who can grant us permission to film in a shopping centre in the suburbs of Perth Western Australia, please email dawn.location@sams-son.com.au

DAWN has entered pre-production

Welcome to this new and hopefully exciting blog which will contain the progress of the making of the Killer Bikini Vampire Films as well as my general comments on the life of a producer.

As the title of this entry states, Dawn of the Killer Bikini Vampire Girls has entered pre-production. This means that the script has been finalised and we have started to crew-up and filming is scheduled to start in only 3 weeks from today!

The basical plot of Dawn of the Killer Bikini Vampire Girls is that the vampires from Killer Bikini Vampire Girls 3: A New Hope hide out in a shopping centre. As you might expect, any homage to the two versions of Dawn of the Dead needs a shopping centre in order to work. As we dont have the budget to build a fake shopping centre, we have started the task of locating a large mall that are willing to allow us to film in their building - details will be posted as soon as it has been confirmed.

While the three characters of Raevan, Alyssa and Mercedes from Killer Bikini Vampire Girls 3: A New Hope will be returning, we do have other roles to cast and auditions are being held later today.

Personally I am looking forward to what will be an exciting experience making another film in the Killer Bikini Vampire Girls series.
